Comparative prognosis in patients with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome and Bell’s palsy
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Feb 06, 2019
Kim SH, et al. - In this retrospective study, authors studied 106 cases with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome and 182 with Bell’s palsy to assess the prognosis in subjects with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome and Bell’s palsy, comparatively. They observed lower rates of favorable recovery in cases with severe facial palsy, diabetes and < 10% ENoG among Ramsay-Hunt syndrome cases as compared to Bell’s palsy candidates. Rates of recovery were also lower in low-weight, normal weight, and overweight candidates with Ramsay-Hunt syndrome.
