Comparative evaluation of midazolam, dexmedetomidine, and propofol as Intensive Care Unit sedatives in postoperative electively ventilated eclamptic patients
Journal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology Sep 15, 2017
Rameez Rashid M, et al. - This study compared midazolam, propofol, and dexmedetomidine for sedation and antihypertensive requirements of eclamptic patients admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after termination of pregnancy and required postoperative ventilation. Use of dexmedetomidine as sedative in eclamptic patients resulted in a better hemodynamic stability and a significant attenuation in the requirement of additional analgesics and antihypertensive. Furthermore, total duration of ICU stay was also less in this group of patients.
