Comparative efficacy of pharmacological interventions for contrast-induced nephropathy prevention after coronary angiography: A network meta-analysis from randomized trials
International Urology and Nephrology | Feb 09, 2018
Ma WQ, et al. - In this analysis of data from randomized controlled trials comparing pharmacological interventions for the prevention of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN), statin plus N-acetylcysteine (NAC) plus intravenous saline seemed to be the most effective treatment for the prevention of CIN in patients after coronary angiography (CAG). A possible protective role of NAC plus intravenous saline against short-term all-cause mortality was also suggested. However, no effective decrease was apparent in the requirement for dialysis and major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events with any of these drugs.
