Comparative effects of low-dose vs standard-dose alteplase in ischemic patients with prior stroke and/or diabetes mellitus: The ENCHANTED trial
Journal of the Neurological Sciences Jan 17, 2018
Chen G, et al. - The objective of this trial was to determine if a history of prior stroke (PS) and diabetes mellitus (DM) modified the comparative effects of low- vs standard-dose alteplase in patients enrolled into the alteplase-dose arm of the Enhanced Control of Hypertension and Thrombolysis Stroke Study (ENCHANTED). It was deduced that a history of PS and DM did not serve as an independent predictor of poor outcome in thrombolysis-treated acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. These variables did not cause any modification in the differences with regard to the effects of low- vs standard-dose alteplase.
