Journal of Pain and Symptom Management Aug 11, 2017
Lindley LC, et al. – The authors compared the effectiveness of usual source of care approaches to improve end–of–life outcomes for children with intellectual disability (ID). They indicated that for children with ID, usual source of care (USC) plus targeted case management (TCM) was more effective at improving end–of–life outcomes. Additional study of the extent of UCS and TCM involvement in reducing emergency room utilization and hospital readmissions at end of life was required.
