Comparative effectiveness of levetiracetam vs phenobarbital for infantile epilepsy
JAMA Pediatrics Feb 17, 2018
Grinspan ZM, et al. - Researchers performed this study to compare the effectiveness of levetiracetam vs phenobarbital for nonsyndromic infantile epilepsy. Compared with phenobarbital, levetiracetam could have superior effectiveness for initial monotherapy of nonsyndromic epilepsy in infants. It was determined that 44 subjects would be free from monotherapy failure instead of 16 if 100 infants who received phenobarbital were instead given levetiracetam therapy.
