Combined impact of chronic kidney disease and contrast induced acute kidney injury on long-term outcomes in patients with acute lower limb ischaemia
European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Apr 12, 2018
Zlatanovic P, et al. - Researchers aimed at determining the impact of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and contrast induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) on long-term clinical outcomes in patients with acute lower limb ischaemia (ALI) undergoing lower limb revascularisation. In this study, both CKD and CI-AKI were identified to be correlated with the highest rate of all-cause mortality and major adverse limb event (MALE). Findings thereby suggest that both CKD and CI-AKI were significantly associated with poor long-term outcomes compared with either CKD or CI-AKI alone in patients with ALI undergoing lower limb revascularisation.
