Combined gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) with ab interno canaloplasty (ABiC) in conjunction with phacoemulsification: 12-month outcomes
Clinical Ophthalmology Aug 27, 2020
Al Habash A, Alrushoud M, Al Abdulsalam O, et al. - In this prospective, interventional, non-comparative case series, researchers reported the surgical outcomes of combined gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) with ab interno canaloplasty (ABiC) in conjunction with phacoemulsification for primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Between January 2018 and August 2018, they included POAG patients who had combined GATT and ABiC in conjunction with phacoemulsification. Twenty eyes of 19 patients, mean age 61.2 ± 6 years, were recruited and completed a 12-month follow-up. Data reported that the overall success rate was 100%. According to the 12-month results of the study, combined GATT with ABiC in conjunction with phacoemulsification is an effective and safe option in reducing the IOP and number of antiglaucoma medications in POAG patients.
