Combination of fractional carbon dioxide laser with narrow band ultraviolet B to induce repigmentation in stable vitiligo: A comparative study

Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology May 03, 2018

Doghaim NN, et al. - Researchers assessed the effectiveness and safety of fractional carbon dioxide (CO2) laser therapy followed by narrowband ultraviolet-B (NB-UVB) phototherapy on stable resistant vitiligo. Data demonstrated that as an alternative modality for the treatment of vitiligo, fractional CO2 laser therapy combined with NB-UVB phototherapy could be used effectively and safely. The duration of NB-UVB therapy was shortened by it and was expected to increase patient compliance. No noticeable adverse events, such as infection, scarring, and Koebner phenomenon were found in any patient.
