Combination drug therapy for the management of low back pain and sciatica; systematic review and meta-analysis
The Journal of Pain Jul 11, 2018
Mathieson S, et al. -Via a systematic review, researchers evaluated the effects of combination drug therapy in patients with low back pain and/or sciatica on pain, disability and adverse events. They identified 27 eligible studies; in these studies, most combinations (21 of 23) were of single trials. Findings suggest that vs single ingredient medicines, combining medicines may give greater pain relief and/or improved tolerability. However, limited evidence for combination drug therapy for back pain or sciatica limits the recommendation of combination drug therapy for their management.
