Colour Doppler sonography in the preoperative assessment of the vascular pedicle from the anterolateral thigh flap: Proposal for a mathematical formula to predict pedicle length
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Dec 23, 2018
Luczewski L, et al. - Authors analyzed 69 cases in this study to investigate the utility of color Doppler sonography (CDS) in the preoperative evaluation of vascular pedicle and also to develop a mathematical model to prognosticate the length of the vascular pedicle based on the ultrasound findings. They observed preoperative CDS relevant to classify the location of the vascular perforators, to assess the pedicle length, and to recognize the vascularization variant. Additionally, preoperative ultrasound correctly classified the two anatomical variants of the anterolateral thigh flap (ALT) vasculature in approximately 97.1% of cases.
