Leung YY, et al. - In symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (KOA), the efficacy of colchicine on pain and function was assessed by the authors, along with the underlying mechanism of action. Inflammation and high bone turnover biomarkers related to osteoarthritis severity and progression risk were reduced by the colchicine (0.5 mg twice-daily orally). Nevertheless, the symptoms of KOA did not reduce over a 16-week study period.
