Linsell L, et al. - The trajectory of cognitive test scores were investigated from infancy to adulthood in individuals born extremely preterm compared with term-born individuals carried out in the Maternity Units of UK and Ireland. The cognitive trajectories in term boys and girls did not vary notably. Nevertheless, the scores of extremely preterm boys were on average 8.8 points below those of extremely preterm girls. The cognitive test scores in infancy and early childhood depicted early adult outcomes.
