Coexistence of colorectal adenomas and coronary calcification in asymptomatic men and women
Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology Jun 14, 2018
Yun KE, et al. - Researchers compared the risk factors correlated with subclinical coronary atherosclerosis and colorectal adenoma (CRA) in asymptomatic men and women. Using multinomial logistic regression analysis, a cross-sectional study was conducted on 4,859 adults who participated in a health screening examination (2010 to 2011; analysis 2014 to 2015). Findings revealed that age, smoking, diabetes, and family history of CRC were significantly correlated with both conditions. The data presented in this work showed a graded association between coronary artery calcium (CAC) and CRA in apparently healthy individuals.
