Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery Sep 02, 2017
El–Taher M, et al. – The efficacy of coblation tonsillectomy was compared with conventional tonsillectomy in terms of operative time, operative blood loss, the time required to return back to the normal activity and diet, and incidence of postoperative hemorrhage whether primary or secondary. Outcomes confirmed that coblation tonsillectomy offered significant advantages over dissection method with less operative time, decreased intraoperative blood loss, early restoration of daily activities and normal diet. However, coblation tonsillectomy was associated with a higher incidence of secondary hemorrhage.
