Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Feb 28, 2018

Brunelli SM, et al. - Rate of catheter-related bloodstream infections (BSIs) was compared among patients undergoing hemodialysis in facilities using ClearGuard HD antimicrobial barrier caps vs Tego connectors plus Curos disinfecting caps. In this 13-month, prospective, cluster-randomized, open-label trial, it was demonstrated that ClearGuard HD antimicrobial barrier caps vs Tego connectors plus Curos caps significantly lowered the rate of catheter-related BSIs in patients undergoing hemodialysis using central venous catheters (CVCs).
