Clinicoradiologic characteristics of temporal bone meningioma: Multicenter retrospective analysis
The Laryngoscope Feb 11, 2020
Han JJ, Lee DY, Kong SK, et al. - This retrospective cohort study was undertaken to investigate the clinical and radiological features of temporal bone meningioma (TBM) in a multicenter cohort. For this investigation, the authors retrospectively involved 13 patients diagnosed with TBM at eight medical institutes between 1998 and 2018. Hearing loss was the most common symptom at the initial visit. All participants showed unilateral TBMs with varied symptom durations (1–60 months). Most patients showed unilateral conductive or mixed hearing loss. Findings suggested that TBM should be suspected in cases where patients exhibit persistent inflammatory symptoms or signs involving intact TM or unilateral conductive or mixed hearing loss with trabecular hyperostosis or temporal bone damage on CT images.
