Clinicopathological significance of RCAN2 production in gastric carcinoma
Histopathology Oct 17, 2018
Hattori Y, et al. - Since gastric cancer (GC) is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death worldwide, researchers examined calcineurin 2 (RCAN2) regulators in a large number of GCs and studied how these expression patterns correlate with clinicopathologic parameters and various markers. They performed an immunohistochemical analysis of RCAN2 in 207 GC tissue samples. In patients with GC, RCAN2 is implicated in tumor progression and is an independent prognostic classifier. Findings revealed that RCAN2 protein was colocalized with EGFR, b-catenin nuclear localization, MMP7, laminin-γ2, VEGF-A and VEGF-C.
