Clinicopathological factors in bladder cancer for cancer-specific survival outcomes following radical cystectomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis
BMC Cancer Jul 26, 2019
Zhang L, et al. - Researchers analyzed literature data to examine the link between 10 clinicopathological features and cancer-specific survival (CSS) in patients with bladder cancer. The relevant articles were identified from PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science databases, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses guidelines. This systematic review included 33 articles that satisfied the eligibility criteria and included 19,702 patients. The factors found to be related to CSS were: advanced age, higher tumor grade, higher pathological stage, lymph node metastasis, lymphovascular invasion, and soft tissue surgical margin. CSS risk following radical cystectomy could be predicted by several clinicopathological features.
