Clinicopathological and survival analysis of uterine papillary serous carcinoma: A single institutional review of 106 cases
Cancer Management and Research Nov 02, 2018
Wang Y, et al. - In uterine papillary serous carcinoma (UPSC) patients, researchers explored the clinicopathological features and prognostic factors in this retrospective review. Study participants were 106 UPSC patients diagnosed and treated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital between 2000 and 2016. For survival analysis, the Kaplan–Meier method and Cox regression analysis were used. Findings suggested an association of complete staging with better overall survival (OS) in patients with stage I UPSC, so it should be performed in all patients. The most significant prognostic determinants were tumor stage and optimal cytoreduction. Combination therapy was recommended to reduce local recurrence patients with advanced-stage UPSC; in stage I patients recurrence can be improved with adjuvant therapy. For chemotherapy, paclitaxel–carboplatin regimen was the preferred regimen.
