Clinicopathological and prognostic significance of heme oxygenase-1 expression in small intestinal adenocarcinomas
Pathology International Mar 21, 2018
Jun SY, et al. - The clinicopathologic and prognostic importance of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in small-intestinal adenocarcinomas (SIACs) were determined. High HO-1 expression appeared to be common in SIACs, which exhibited a connection with favorable clinicopathologic parameters, including younger age, lower T category, and less pancreatic invasion. Hence, HO-1 is a prognostic marker and a new target to modulate chemotherapeutic effects in patients with SIACs.
