Clinicopathologic features and risk factors for recurrence of mucinous borderline ovarian tumors: A retrospective study with follow-up of more than 10 years

International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Nov 06, 2018

Sun L, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers analyzed data of 76 patients with mucinous borderline ovarian tumors (MBOTs) to better assess MBOT clinicopathologic features and determine risk factors for recurrence. Participants included those who received their diagnosis and were treated from 2000-2007 at a single institution. The investigators noted a higher recurrence rate among patients with later-stage disease. Intestinal MBOT and endocervical MBOT did not exhibit any differences in recurrence rate. Overall, the majority of patients with MBOT had a favorable prognosis.
