Clinical value of 18FDG PET/CT in screening for distant metastases in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
Clinical Otolaryngology May 04, 2018
Deurvorst SE, et al. - Experts conducted a retrospective single-centre study to detect the clinical value of 18FDG PET/CT in screening the distant metastases in management of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma patients. Findings suggested that 18FDG PET/CT has a high negative predictive value for the detection of distant metastases, in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma patients with high-risk factors. It ought to be used in daily clinical practice, however, the sensitivity was limited when long-term follow-up was used as reference standard.
