Clinical value of autoantibodies for lupus myelitis and its subtypes: A systematic review
Seminars in Arthritis and Rheumatism Feb 21, 2018
Oiwa H, et al. - The purpose of this trial was to assess for lupus myelitis and its subtypes, the clinical value of clinical characteristics and autoantibodies, especially lupus-specific antibodies. Findings confirmed that a poor functional outcome was predicted by the grey matter myelitis. In addition, it was also confirmed that grey matter myelitis was associated with longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis and anti-double-stranded DNA antibodies. Authors concluded that white matter myelitis was related to favorable functional outcomes and could partially represent a complication of neuromyelitis optica.
