Clinical utility of routine follow-up cystography in the management of traumatic bladder ruptures
Urology Dec 08, 2017
Johnsen NV, et al. - This study was formulated in order to determine if follow-up cystography altered the clinical management in patients following treatment of traumatic bladder ruptures. Unanticipated clinical information was rarely provided, if ever, through the follow-up cystography after cystorrhaphy for uncomplicated blunt trauma-associated bladder ruptures. For catheter drainage extraperitoneal (EP) patients, cystography remained clinically valuable. This was due to least 18% of patients exhibiting signs of continued extravasation. Nonetheless, the optimal timing of cystography and catheter removal was unknown.
