Clinical study on combining femtosecond thin- flap and LASIK with the Triple-A profile for high myopia correction
BMC Ophthalmology May 20, 2019
Li K, et al. - Researchers studied 90 eyes from 90 patients that received thin-flap femtosecond laser–assisted LASIK (Laser in suit keratomileusis) using the 500 Hz pulse rate of the Triple-A profile for the visual and refractive outcomes. Findings indicate that among patients with high myopia, spherical equivalence up to − 11.15D could be corrected safely and efficiently using the Triple-A ablation profile of the MEL 90 excimer laser associated with thin-flap. However, they recommend minimizing the ablation depth in patients with high myopia to reduce the increase of the post-operative higher-order aberrations so as to improve the visual quality, under the premise of ensuring a certain optical zone diameter.
