Clinical study of children with cryofibrinogenemia: A retrospective study from a single center

Chou HF, et al. - Authors assessed the demographic, clinical features, laboratory data, pathology and other survey in pediatric patients with cryofibrinogenemia. They reported the presentations of cryofibrinogenemia, which are seen rarely in children. Findings suggested an association of most of the cases with autoimmune disease and demonstrated severe and complex presentations. The involvement of central nervous system was common. Purpura, arthralgia, and muscle weakness were the common symptoms. In all patients, cryofibrinogen was positive on laboratory examination. Increased anti-thrombin III was seen in all patient, while 87.5% and 62.5% had abnormal protein S and protein C, respectively.
