Clinical significance of traditional clinical parameters and inflammatory biomarkers for the prognosis of patients with spinal chondrosarcoma: A retrospective study of 150 patients in a single center
European Spine Journal May 09, 2019
Xu K, et al. - Via performing univariate and multivariate analyses, researchers studied the clinical significance of 5 inflammatory biomarkers and conventional clinical parameters in prognostic prediction of spinal chondrosarcoma. Findings suggested that total resection could decrease the rate of recurrence of spinal chondrosarcoma significantly and improve the overall survival (OS) of patients with chondrosarcoma. For disease-free survival, Tomita classification I–III was a favorable factor, and for OS, preoperative Frankel score A–C was an adverse prognostic factor. Compared to other inflammatory indicators, C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio was the most robust prognostic indicator with a discriminatory capacity.
