Clinical significance of positive anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies without evidence of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies-associated vasculitis
International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Feb 11, 2019
Bornstein G, et al. - Authors investigated 113 candidates to assess the clinical spectrum and rate of subjects with a positive anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) without evidence of ANCA-associated vasculitis between 2007 and 2016 in the Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Israel. They observed higher titers of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) antibody among candidates with vasculitis. They found no confirmation of vasculitis among individuals with a positive cytoplasmic ANCA (C-ANCA)/proteinase 3 (PR3) or P-ANCA/myeloperoxidase (MPO) especially among those with low-medium ELISA antibody titers.
