Clinical significance of plasma D-dimer and fibrinogen in digestive cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis
European Journal of Surgical Oncology Aug 05, 2018
Lin Y, et al. - The predictive value of plasma D-dimer and fibrinogen in digestive cancers was assessed by researchers in this systematic review. They analyzed 37 original studies which reported how the survival of digestive cancer patients is impacted by pretreatment plasma d-dimer or fibrinogen. Findings suggested that in digestive cancer patients with different traits, both pretreatment plasma D-dimer and fibrinogen forecast poor survival robustly. Compared to fibrinogen, increased levels of plasma D-dimer had a stronger association with worse overall survival. Metastatic patients showed enhanced negative prognostic effects of high plasma D-dimer vs non-metastatic digestive cancer patients.
