Clinical significance of altering epithelialâmesenchymal transition in metastatic lymph nodes of gastric cancer
Gastric Cancer Aug 26, 2017
Okubo K, et al. – This research aspired to examine the expression of the epithelialÂmesenchymal transition (EMT) markers (E–cadherin, N–cadherin, and Snail genes) in the primary tumor sites and metastatic lymph nodes. For predicting the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer, the expression of N–cadherin in metastatic lymph nodes was useful. The Snail switchÂnamely, the positive–to–negative conversion of the Snail statusÂbetween primary tumors and lymph node metastasis could be important for confirming EMT and mesenchymalÂepithelial transition.
