Baya B, et al. - Via this cross-sectional study of 214 patients presumed to have multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) admitted to University of Bamako Teaching Hospital, Point-G between 2007 and 2016, researchers assessed clinical factors associated with MDR-TB in Bamako, Mali. Observations revealed, in Mali, there was an association of MDR-TB with age ≤40 years, and HIV did not confer risk for MDR-TB. No change in the patient’s physical condition was noted with MDR-TB vs susceptible TB. The risk of developing MDR-TB did not increase with tobacco consumption.
