Lee YH, et al. - The incidence of syncope, the clinical factors related to syncope, as well as the connection between syncope and the short-term outcomes of pulmonary embolism (PE) were assessed. It was shown that syncope is linked to a more severe form of PE; however, the short-term prognosis of PE was not affected. A central PE, blood troponin I level, unprovoked PE, and female gender were the clinical factors associated with syncope in patients with PE.
