Clinical predictors of tubercular retinal vasculitis in a high-endemic country
Retina Feb 01, 2021
Kaza H, Tyagi M, Pathengay A, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for determining clinical signs suggestive of tubercular etiology in retinal vasculitis. The sample consisted of patients who presented with retinal vasculitis at three tertiary care centers in India. For etiological diagnosis, all patients underwent thorough clinical assessment and tailored laboratory investigations. Group A had 69 patients (100 eyes) and Group B had 45 patients (75 eyes) of the 114 patients diagnosed with retinal vasculitis. According to this retrospective comparative study, tubercular etiology in retinal vasculitis may be predictive of the presence of healed or active subvascular lesions, focal vascular tortuosity and occlusive vasculitis.
