Ravi V, et al. - In chronic kidney disease (CKD), predictors of pericardial effusion, as well as its prognostic impact, was identified. In the detection of those with moderate to large pericardial effusion among hospitalized CKD patients, the possible usefulness of hypocalcemia was noted. No significant difference in mortality or cardiovascular re-hospitalization was observed in patients with effusion vs without pericardial effusion.
