Clinical parameters of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) following different hormonal triggers of oocyte maturation in IVF treatment
Clinical Endocrinology Feb 22, 2018
Abbara A, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the symptoms and clinical parameters of early ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in women after being triggered with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), GnRH agonist (GnRHa), or kisspeptin for the in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. It was discovered that the median ovarian volume was larger following hCG than GnRHa, and in turn, kisspeptin. Additionally, findings disclosed that symptoms of OHSS were most frequent following hCG and least frequent following kisspeptin. In women at high risk of OHSS, triggering oocyte maturation by inducing endogenous gonadotropin release was found to be preferable to the use of exogenous hCG.
