Clinical outcomes of one anastomosis gastric bypass vs sleeve gastrectomy for morbid obesity
Obesity Surgery Dec 11, 2019
Wu C, et al. - The clinical outcomes of sleeve gastrectomy (SG) vs those of one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) for morbid obesity were investigated. Searching the published articles in English from Scopus, PubMed (Medline), Central (Cochrane), and Embase databases, researchers included 20 articles examining 4,064 OAGB patients and 3,733 SG patients in this meta-analysis. Outcomes revealed a higher efficacy of OAGB vs SG for percentage excess weight loss and dyslipidemia remission. Further, the risk of a postoperative leak, gastroesophageal reflux disease, revision, and mortality may lower in correlation to undergoing OAGB.
