Clinical outcomes and mid-term survivorship of an uncemented primary total hip arthroplasty system
Journal of Arthroplasty Feb 05, 2020
Chaudhry H, et al. - A retrospective review of a prospectively-generated database was conducted to examine outcomes of a single manufacturer’s femoral stem used in combination for total hip arthroplasty. For this total hip system, functional outcomes, revision data, and survivorship were reported. Researchers included a sum of 1,672 individuals conducting 1,942 primary THAs. At a 10-year follow-up, no cases of acetabular failure were reported. All functional result scores showed significant improvements following THA. For total hip arthroplasty, this THA implant system involving an uncemented press-fit acetabulum applied alongside a dual tapered femoral stem is an excellent option. The results of this study suggested that implant survivorship at 2, 5, and 10 years is among the best reported for any total hip system in the world.
