Clinical outcome of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia during pregnancy: A 10-year experience
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology May 08, 2019
Hong DK, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers examined 215 pregnant women who were diagnosed with high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN; 75 CIN2, 140 CIN3) by colposcopy-directed biopsy, for their clinical outcome. In addition, they appraised the risk factors for persistent disease. Outcomes support conservative management of CIN2-3 during pregnancy. Postpartum high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection was identified to be a significant independent predictor of CIN2+ persistence in multivariate logistic regression analysis. They emphasize performing close follow-up with HPV testing, and postpartum colposcopy evaluation in these patients.
