Clinical mid-term results of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair in patients older than 75 years of age
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Jun 12, 2020
Plachel F, Siegert P, Ruttershoff K, et al. - This research was intended to assess the clinical mid-term outcomes after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) in patients who were 75 years or older at time of surgery. Between 2010 and 2016, researchers included a sum of 31 shoulders in 30 patients older than 75 years at time of surgery who had undergone ARCR for a degenerative full-thickness rotator cuff tear (RCT). This study's findings demonstrate that ARCR for symptomatic RCTs without advanced muscle degeneration in patients older than 75 years at time of surgery served good clinical outcomes and a high patient satisfaction at mid-term follow-up.
