Clinical, mammographic, and ultrasonographic characteristics of diabetic mastopathy: A case series

Clinical Imaging Nov 09, 2018

Suvannarerg V, et al. - Researchers identified patient characteristics and imaging features of diabetic mastopathy (DMP) via conducting retrospective searches of the database for DMP lesions that were pathologically confirmed between January 2004 and November 2015. In patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and those who are insulin-dependent, DMP was more common. Findings suggested that ultrasound features mimic malignancy, but DMP lesions were usually occult on mammography regardless of their large sizes, which could separate DMP from invasive cancer.
