Jules-Elysee KM, et al. - Researchers postulated that a STOP-Bang score of 3 or greater would significantly correlate with the number of oxygen desaturation episodes during the first 48 hours after total knee arthroscopy. In this study, this hypothesis was tested. Based on the findings, they recommended considering a high preoperative value of CO₂ as a warning for possible prolonged episodes of desaturation postoperatively. They also recommended limiting postoperative desaturation events for minimizing the length of stay.
