Clinical implications of tumor-associated tissue eosinophilia in tongue squamous cell carcinoma

The Laryngoscope Aug 17, 2018

Paz DD, et al. - In tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC), authors assessed the potential role of tumor-associated tissue eosinophilia (TATE). Findings suggested an association of higher levels of TATE with several clinicopathological factors and poorer survival rates. The accuracy of TSCC prognosis may be strengthened by a nomogram incorporating TATE levels. They noted a significant association of TATE levels with circulating eosinophils. The c-index of their nomogram for overall survival was 0.786, which demonstrates better accuracy in prognosis prediction vs the TNM stage only.
