Clinical implications of blood eosinophil count in patients with non-asthmaâCOPD overlap syndrome COPD
International Journal of COPD Aug 24, 2017
Song JH, et al. – Researchers performed this examination to investigate the clinical implications of the blood eosinophil count in patients with non–asthmaÂCOPD overlap syndrome (ACOS) COPD. The blood eosinophil count and percent were not related to forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) changes, quality of life (QoL), acute exacerbations of COPD (AECOPD) frequency, or response to inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) in patients with non–ACOS COPD. They suggested that the clinical implication of the blood eosinophil count should not be overestimated in patients with non–ACOS COPD.
