Clinical impact of small advanced gastric cancer (≤ 40 mm) in elderly patients: A retrospective cohort study
International Journal of Surgery Aug 09, 2017
Ueda Y, et al. – A retrospective cohort study was conducted to verify the clinical impact of small advanced gastric cancer (≤40 mm) in elderly patients, short– and long–term outcomes after gastrectomy for this disease were examined and compared with those for large gastric cancer. It has been validated that gastrectomy for small advanced gastric cancer (≤40 mm) can be more safely performed and results in better prognosis in elderly patients aged 80 years or older, demonstrating that early screening examinations should be recommended for elderly populations.
