Clinical frailty scale and outcome after coronary artery bypass grafting
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Nov 21, 2018
Reichart D, et al. - Researchers investigated the impact of frailty on the outcome after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and its utility in improving the predictive ability of European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation (EuroSCORE II). They assessed the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) preoperatively in patients undergoing isolated CABG From the multicentre E-CABG registry, and stratified patients into 3 classes: scores 1–2, scores 3–4 and scores 5–7. Outcomes suggest that early- and mid-term mortality could be predicted with CFS in patients undergoing isolated CABG.
