Clinical features and the degree of cerebrovascular stenosis in different types and subtypes of cerebral watershed infarction

Li Y, et al. – The authors performed this study to examine whether there were differences in pathogenesis among different types and subtypes of cerebral watershed infarction (WSI). While cortical watershed infarction (CWI) had a weaker correlation with internal carotid artery (ICA) steno–occlusion, internal watershed infarction (IWI) was correlated with hemodynamic impairment (HDI), particularly the partial IWI (P–IWI) subtype. Moreover, IWI patients were more prone to poor prognosis.
