Clinical feasibility study of 3D intracranial magnetic resonance angiography using compressed sensing
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Apr 19, 2019
Lin Z, et al. - In this retrospective study involving 49 consecutive subjects with suspected intracranial arterial disease, clinical feasibility of compressed sensing (CS)-MR angiography (MRA) was assessed by researchers compared to conventional 3D-MRA (Con-MRA). In order to evaluate the interobserver agreement of image quality and intracranial arterial stenosis, the Kendall W test was performed. For signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), paired-t-tests were conducted. For each observer, the interstudy agreement of lesion and variation of intracranial arteries assessment was excellent. Compared to Con-MRA, the SNR and CNR were significantly higher in CS-MRA. According to the findings, CS-MRA displayed significantly higher image quality, less blurred, comparable intracranial artery diagnostic performance, and better external carotid artery (ECA) display than Con-MRA. The definition of ECA of CS-MRA has been significantly better.
