Clinical evaluation of total and high-avidity anti-dsDNA antibody assays for the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus
Lupus Oct 09, 2019
Yuan W, et al. - A total of 410 serum samples from 217 individuals with SLE, 54 with other systemic autoimmune diseases, and 139 healthy people were tested in order to assess the diagnostic performances of total and high-avidity (HA) anti-dsDNA enzyme immunoassays (EIA) in Chinese individuals with SLE. The BioPlex 2200 anti-dsDNA assay displayed the highest positive probability ratio and odds ratio, while the clinical performances of different anti-dsDNA assays exhibited sufficient agreements. Moreover, in SLE diagnosis and monitoring disease activity, the HA anti-dsDNA EIA kit in relation to the total anti-dsDNA kit gave better performance.
