Won YY, et al. - The researchers assessed the effectiveness of oral administration of finasteride at a dose of 2.5 mg/day in cases with female pattern hair loss (FPHL). Findings revealed that administration of finasteride at a dose of 2.5 mg/day was effective for patients with FPHL. Finasteride was noted to have a better effect on hair growth. when patients had a lower Ludwig score and an older age at onset.
